Spent all of my lunchtime thumbing through the genius of Saul Bass. He has been a heavy influence on me from an early age and this monster of a tome is a testament to his true genius.
So inspired I did this logo for a mate of a mate:

I’ve had this record since i was about 12ish. I always admired the level of intelligence this collective portrayed. The branding is amazing, i remember seeing it everywhere when i was a kid stencilled on just about everything from leather jackets, to walls, to the pavement, brand evangelism in action before people talked about that kind of stuff. Way ahead of there time.

Just heard back from Adidas with a “Sorry it took so long to get back to you…” Hey I know you’re busy so thats ok! We thought your stuff was so cool that we sent it to global corporate marketing who also thought it was SUPA COOL! etc etc. The long and short of it is — we’re now on the roster so result! Fuckin A!
